What will you be doing as a Data Analyst?

The data team at Humi manages company-wide data analytics and internal tooling for business processes. We focus on building efficiency through process structure and automation as well as helping leaders across the organization make informed decisions using the best data available.

As a Data Analyst, your responsibilities would consist of:

  • You will advise and coach leaders what happened (descriptive analytics), propose scenarios of solutions and potential outcomes (predictive analytics), and recommend the best way to move forward (prescriptive analytics)
  • You will generate actionable insights based on company-wide data and department-level analytics, including trends
  • You will be responsible for producing and analyzing corporate reports - such as leads to conversion rates, sales realization, client feedback, retention and churn
  • You will prioritize data requests and services, resolve them, or forward to other functions if needed and identify opportunities for optimization or automation
  • If interested, you will be given the chance to participate in advanced analytics projects, involving machine learning and data science

In your first 30 days, you will:

  • Onboard and acclimate with the Operations and Finance team
  • Meet with leadership and various key stakeholders in Sales, Client Experience, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Payroll and Benefit teams
  • Learn the fundamentals of the HR, benefits, and payroll industry
  • Begin training on platforms and reporting tools: Stripe, Airtable, Zapier, Pendo, Xero, Hubspot, Zendesk, Google Analytics, Tableau

In your first 60 days, you will:

  • Complete training on platforms and reporting tools
  • Manage your first sizable project from start to finish
  • Have developed strong working relationships with various senior leaders and a good understanding of their goals and needs
  • Have gained strong knowledge of Humi operations

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Own our CRM: you will be the go-to expert and own the roadmap for optimizations and new internal feature rollouts
  • Advise stakeholders and department leaders on best practices relating to all things data and platforms
  • Have a strong understanding of the current state of assets across the department and mid to long-term goals for their expansion/improvement
  • Have explored more technical aspects of the data operations team and started working towards a personal development plan to grow horizontally

In your first year, you will:

  • Be the in-house expert for a variety of internal tools & platforms (some of which you may have built out yourself)
  • Have accomplished 2-3 significant career development goals (the growth opportunities in this role are endless, it’s up to you to decide where you want to take it!)

What are we looking for in a Data Analyst?

  • Post-secondary degree in a Business or STEM field.
  • 1-2 years experience working in an analytical or strategic role.
  • Experience working with SQL (Redshift or any relational query language)
  • Experience working with Python (or any programming language) and Github (or any code repository tool)
  • Experience working with Tableau (or any business intelligence visualization tool)
  • Proven expertise in visualizing actionable insights based on business questions. Paint a story why the sales result is such, what are some of the potential ways to improve recurring revenue, and how to further increase retention and reduce churn.
  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. Can you talk to examples of being given high-level goals and getting down and dirty to make them happen?
  • Extremely coachable. Think of a time where you were thrown completely out of your comfort zone and successfully seeked out and actioned constructive feedback.
  • You can deliver complex information in a confident and convincing manner that is appropriate to different stakeholders. Ever had to convince someone that there is a better approach to something they really want to do?

Nice to Have Skills:
